Observation details
We've heard one of these guys in the woods of Oregon, but this is the first one we've gotten eyes on. Found it in a bare oak behind the old adobe house/poolhall, then followed it deeper into the small trees on the nearby hillside where we took these pictures. Distinguished from the Ferruginous type mainly by the spotted vice streaked head and by range.
