Observation details
The more I thought about it, the more it seems as if these birds overwintered somewhere at the OP (more likely given the date) versus being true early migrants? Personally, my first April Palm Warbler at the OP. We stopped near the cypress trees on the west side of the road to listen, and immediately heard warbler chip notes. I soon got on a single bird that was foraging, pumping its tail, and calling incessantly here (38.0402548, -122.9813905). As I was taking pics of one, it flew down to the ground a few times, and another was calling from above me. I spent a few minutes with both in view simultaneously before one flew higher up in the trees and I lost it.
