Observation details
Continuing from 3/13; another cool discovery by Jonathan R. Thank you!! :)) Adult male; orange, black, and white Oriole with a black dipped head; silvery-black bill that’s straighter than the Hooded Oriole and shorter bill than the Bullock’s Oriole; black wings with white wing bars; white under-feathers, visible when it was preening and seen in flight; orange back that contrasted nicely against its black tail with orange edges at the base; orange undertail feathers; yellow-orange spotting throughout its underparts; dark legs. 0952 to 0959 – he made a dramatic entrance as he flew in from the west into the tall Sycamore that’s south of the playground (33.882248, -117.971577), interrupting my engaging convo with Dan as we all stood around, waiting for the Orioles to come to us, which turned out to be a successful strategy!! Silent throughout my observation as it just sat, looked around, preened, and sat some more. Unbothered by the other Orioles, and was not seen associating with them today. Later seen flying high in a nearby Euc that lined Sunny Ridge Dr.
