Observation details
Similar in size and overall plumage to Semipalmated Plover, but with large black bill. Thinly connected dark collar, thick white connected supercilium, legs fleshy pink. Spotted this morning on the ocean side of Silver Strand by Kristina Wolf, in with Snowy Plovers at high tide. This afternoon, at low tide, the bird was foraging on the exposed mudflats of Emory Cove with Semipalmated Plovers (although mostly on its own), here: (32.6060557, -117.1263495) Refound by Nathan French.
