Media notes
Song Sparrow, apparently representing the locally breeding M. m. pusillula, photographed by Curtis A. Marantz on 2 April 2024 at the Ravenswood salt ponds on the Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge, Menlo Park, San Mateo County, California.
Observation details
(singing and calling; I suspect these birds, all of which were singing from the saltmarsh, represented M. m. pusillula, and the bird that I photographed did indeed appear to have a relatively slim bill and contrasty plumage patterns)
