Observation details
#05 1655 MOPA Heard first along the east side of the park heading to a flowering tree north of the restrooms. Then to the fencing and it was waiting on handouts. A local said the bird enjoys eating bread. Not the best idea. • At 1705 it was on top of the nest moving twigs. Then it headed to a branch above and west of the nest then flew to a tree just south of the northeast entrance at 1708. It eventually flew to the fencing north of the restrooms shortly after. • By 1710 it flew to a tree at the extreme northwest corner of the park, secured a long twig, brought it to the nest, and affixed it above the uptown entrance to the nest. • On its right leg there’s a light copper-colored band with white characters that I couldn’t read with the binoculars even though it was only a few feet away. It’s a very approachable bird.
