Media notes
Possible hybrid with Canyon Towhee?
Observation details
This bird was paired with a Canyon Towhee which was collecting nesting material. It was silent but appeared to resemble an Abert's Towhee but may have been a hybrid. It was cooperative enough but badly backlit for photos. There was some black around the bill but the amount seemed reduced and the upper mandible was at least half dark. I'm not sure if faint black marks on chest are real or just the way the feathers lay but it seems to be same spot as Canyon Towhee chest mark.
