Image showing 2 green morph
Observation details
*Rare. At least three that seem to fit within the bounds of criteria for green morph. Two of the three individuals showed distinct yellow-green suffusion throughout and stood out well amongst the typical "Northern" Pine Siskins, even identifiable by naked eye. Intensity of yellow-green wash varied greatly depending on posture and viewing angle but was clearly apparent. Both birds showed yellow undertail coverts, yellow on uppertail coverts, and with fewer and less intense streaking than the nearby typical Pine Siskins. Their faces more plain and overall more pale and with bright yellow wingbars. The third apparent green morph showed very little yellowish wash, but was overall remarkably pale with very limited streaking on underparts and with a plain, less contrasting face pattern. Subtle splotches of yellow on underparts barely discernible. Photos.
