Observation details
See notes on bohaii birds below. This bird can easily be differentiated from the 4 bohaii birds in being markedly smaller and darker, with more contrast where the brown of the breast and flanks meet the white belly. The head is small and squarish, rather than rounded, and the bill is finer and shorter. Additionally, the central tail feathers are tipped brown, rather than white, though I can't say if this is just an individual variation. This bird is continuing its Preformative moult, and has replaced pp1-5 distally. It has also begun secondary moult proximally from s1-3.
