migrating flock
Observation details
Migrating flock, heading up the arm toward Kootenay Lake. Based on angular shape of black wing tips, with white windows at tip and less black on the underwing tip supports Herring as opposed to California Gull, which also migrate through here. The overall dorsal gray is in line with the lighter Herring and/or Ring-billed as opposed to a slightly darker California. Also, considered a possible mixed flock, but none of the individuals suggest to me a different species.
