Observation details
Yay, at last, a decent look at these beauties! A pair of tall, long-legged grey cranes with red patch at back of heads, darker wing tips. Initially feeding in the field closest to the road. One appeared to be trying a half-hearted courtship ritual. It leapt in circles around the other bird while flapping its wings, but the other bird didn't respond. It tried this a couple of times, then picked what looked like a clump of black clay, threw it up in the air, watched it drop, threw it up again while flapping. Again no response, so it gave up and flew off further towards the middle of the Marsh.
