Observation details
Less than two minutes into the drive we spotted two lumps in the road, one larger than the other -- an adult leading a single young Woodcock! We slowly inched forward thinking they'd skeddadle, but when they didn't, we got out to usher them both off the rather exposed gravel road, snapping some photos before they moved. A surreal experience.
