Observation details
Ongoing at this location. Very large, bulky cormorant (very much like a loon in heft and structure). Dark overall with pale neck and throat yellow-orange gular. Bill dull flesh colored. Bill very thick and longish with heavy hook at tip. Much burlier and thicker necked/bigger-billed than a Double-crested. First found swimming two hundred yards south of parking area as it swam to the northern part of the pond. Note that access requires an Elgin AFB recreation permit (available online, $5 for the day)
