Observation details

Escaped pet. Spotted in a palm tree in backyard, and then seen flying across road into a dead tree. Unmistakeable. Big gray bird with floppy crest, and long tail. Flight was not like anything I’ve ever seen. As it flew, it hit its wings together, and then pulled them up sharply, then spread them again, repeating the process. Its flight was interspersed with gliding. The one sound I heard it utter was a waaaaaaaay sound, descending, and almost child like. It was so out of place here, and it was a real treat to see it.
