Observation details
Standing on one leg in the dry sand a few meters from the outflow water. Long curved beak, same length as the neck. Greenish iridescent back, reddish neck and shoulders. White spot around the eye with red. About the same size as the gulls. Not fazed when 50+ gulls startled and flew in a flock around and above it. First spotted by Lynn Scarlett at 12:30pm.
