Observation details
seen around 12:15 for about five minutes. first saw flying over to the “blue dumpster”at the Water street Market (at Lawrence and Water streets) landing close to the street. (I’m afraid my screaming “tyrant, tyrant, tyrant” may have scared it.) It then flew over to the lone palm across the street and stayed there for a while. (Perhaps a roosting spot?) Then flew to the two sets of palms at the opening to the Water Street Market parking lot. It chased a mourning dove, flew to the top of a light post, then back to palms. Finally flying west over the dining patio and out of sight. Bright yellow below; somewhat lighter on the throat and with a slightly more olive wash on the sides of the breast. Grayer head with a slightly more greenish-brown back. Plains brownish wings. Dark line through eye. Underwing coverts almost shockingly all bright yellow. Longer bill than most kingbirds but not as thick appearing slight thinner basally. High short pips with additional call being an extended series of “pips” similar to a Tropical Kingbird. Waited for about 5 hours
