Observation details
First heard then pecking at wood and then found them up high. A Juvenile (greenish with yellow throat and short tail) male (bright yellow) and female (greenish yellow) all picking at Koa trees and extracting larvae in the 3rd Kipuka on the trail. Within 25m of one another. All had long deserved upper mandible and short, Stout lower mandible. Seen by all of us. Will add a photo of male.
