Observation details
Changed number from 3 to 2, based on the pair I saw clearly the next morning, when they were initially swimming with GWTE. I am guessing that the third duck I saw on Saturday was probably a GWTE. In the fading light I saw ducks with black tails with a white patch just in front, like a wigeon. I did not notice a light crescent in front of the bill of the BWTE, nor did I see white lateral mark of the wigeon; probably not enough light to see either mark. The audio ia good match for the short, high-pitched calls of the BWTE and distinct from wigeon calls, both in terms of sound and appearance of sonogram.4 calls in quick succession just after 4 sec, immediately after the CAGO honks, more calls at about 10 sec. Heard and saw in the reedy cove to the left (north) of the nearly flooded peninsula when facing reservoir.
