Observation details
Reported earlier by Jeremy Collison. Mantle darker than Herring, but lighter than Lesser Blacked-backed. Small, slender bill, almost pinched at base and much less robust than Herring's. Deep pink legs, unlike any other gull at the compost, reminiscent of Slaty-backs I've seen. Underwing showed obvious subterminal white spots, like Slaty-back's "string of pearls." (Not nearly dark enough or robust enough to be a Slaty-back.)
