Observation details
Continuing young bird found yesterday by John Sterling. A ridiculous looking bird in the best way imaginable. Light pink overall wading bird with white-ish head. The Spoonbill was in the same area throughout the duration of my visit. The bird would alternate between sleeping, scratching its head, biting/moving sticks with its large bill, preening, and lots more sleeping. At 5:17pm, I finally saw the bird fly (shown in attached video). It flew a short distance (maybe 50 feet) to a similar type of area and continued to do the same stuff until I left. Observed the bird while standing behind the fence here: (35.3386396, -119.2521732), with the bird approx here: (35.3393889, -119.2508056).
