Observation details
Linda Ireland and I began hearing KIRA "Kek-Churr" song on May 2, 2017. We believe this is a female advertising for a mate at the start of breeding season. Tonight were heard the KIRA in emergent marsh and this was the last time that we heard her. Audio recordings over multiple evenings were sent to Steve Arena for confirmation of KIRA. This KIRA was accidentally found during a Rusty Blackbird spring census. This KIRA sighting was also submitted to the NHESP online database for state listed birds.
