Observation details
Large shorebird with two-toned bright pink and black elongated bill, and with a very slight upturn. More robust in height and size than the similar Hudsonian Godwit, and it also did not display a white rump. The underwings were a cinnamon color. Upperparts were speckled and barred with dark brown; underparts buffy with fine streaking on the neck and upper breast; legs long and dark; wingtips extended to about the end of the tail. Vocalization appears to match that on eBird for Marbled Godwit (Macaulay Library ML 229207). The eBird database indicates that the Marbled Godwit has never been previously recorded on Bonaire or the neighboring regional islands of Curacao or Aruba.
