Observation details
Overall initial impression was an overall light Cookilaria: a medium sized petrel with a short black bill, long broad wings, and long, narrow tapering tail. Distinct darker M-marking on the overall gray upper parts and overall white underparts with a gray belly. The underwing pattern had a prominent black band diagonally across the from the bend in the wing towards the body.
