Observation details
Continuing excellent find by Alison S. and Ellen P. ..... Several birders on it when I arrived, bird was perched up and singing consistently until about 8:25 when it went silent and vanished (from what I hear until about 11, as I looped back and checked in again). Medium size sparrow with a gray bill, a thin, off-white eye ring, and mostly pale blue gray upper parts, the crown and post-ocular stripe composed of rufous flecks, and the mantle feathers were that same dull rufous with black t-shaped centers and pale blue-gray edges. Had a faint necklace of slightly darker flecks and a white throat, nape entirely flecked rufous and blue-grey. Fairly pale on the underside otherwise with some blurry stripes on the sides towards the vent with pale buff background. It seems to have replaced some of the greater coverts and tertials with alternate feathers, all the coverts had fairly bold white edging. Age unknown, grey type, male.
