Observation details
Continuing presence in this area. Very high count for this county, very careful tally. First saw 1 just west of the ferries, around (37.7715050, -122.3018640), then two together near the gap in the breakwater (37.7690072, -122.3087287). Then I saw a few more scattered individuals west of the Hornet in this area (37.7733816, -122.3095109). Finally I saw 6 birds in one scan. Photos of some of the closer ones. Very unusually high concentration for inside SF Bay, although several have been present this year around Alameda Island and San Leandro Bay, I wonder if the number has been augmented by birds migrating north. Felt like I was at Bodega Bay or Moss Landing!
