Observation details
Heard and seen in flight. Aerial foraging. Apparently all of them were females, although at least one seemed to be a male individual, but was not clearly seen (waiting for pictures). Mainly flying high like 50m above the ground, but birds were also gracefully skimming the air at a low height (ca. 5-8m) for a fleeting moment, spending most of the time above the middle part of the lagoon. Flocks of 2 to 5 individuals flying together. Description: Noticeably larger than Pygochelidon cyanoleuca only for a few centimeters, overall mouse-gray color, some of them being paler on belly, with dark axillars.
