Media notes
What we thought at the time to be Pheasant Cuckoo-like and might be an antpitta singing from the forest way below our campsite would turn out to be a Brown Tinamou. This is a messy recording of the tinamou singing in the distance. Background includes: Russet-crowned Warbler, Black-crested Warbler, Common Chlorospingus, Cliff Flycatcher, Scaly-naped Parrot, Rufous-collared Sparrow, Rufous Spinetail, and some tanager call notes. Digitized from original tape recording on a Sony TCM5000, using a Sennheiser ME60 series mic with a Mineroff booster & foam windscreen.
Observation details
1900m; heard, ID in retrospect, it sounded like Pheasant Cuckoo, the sound of this population taught to us later by Dan Lane et al;
