Observation details
In the wet area just off the North Point trail, feeding with YRWAs. Very vocal, which is how I first noticed the bird, and very responsive to pishing. First spotted it surprisingly high up (maybe thirty feet), foraging in the branches of a tree before it dropped into the phrags and then came closer. This is only my second OCWA and I was a bit shocked by the vibrancy of the bird; the only other one I’ve seen was very washed out and dull. This bird glowed more green than yellow in the light. Orange crown just barely visible in photos if you squint and use a bit of imagination. Gobbled up a few ants in front of me before retreating back out of sight.
