Observation details
Audio recorded at (50.2692428, -115.8426329), ID’d once I got back to my camp site from audio file, new it was some kind of rare sparrow. First heard from quite a distance away and thought it was a Canyon wren, as I got closer I realized it was some kind of sparrow singing. I recorded the audio, but had to save my almost dead phone battery for my bird surveys, so I was unable to playback it into the open for a photo. I did try pishing to no success, I got the Vesper's in, but the FISP just shut up and hid, seemingly high in the canopy of firs as I was unable to even flush it. Habitat was absolutely perfect, spaced out juniper and rose shrubs in an old field, so I was very surprised not to find it there the following evening.
