Media notes
A rather busy cut, but the somewhat-Dickcissel-like songs are those of Drab Seedater, excitedly singing in the lush-now desert shrub ca. 10 kms N of Jaén. Background includes: Streaked Saltator, Pacific Hornero, S. Beardless-Tyrannulet, Pacific Parrotlet, & Fulvous-faced Scrub-Tyrant. Digitized from original tape recording on a Sony TCM5000, using a Sennheiser ME60 series mic with a Mineroff booster & foam windscreen.
Observation details
much singing (to RAR, somewhat Dickcissel-like); bill largish, though not like a Parrot-bill; bill pale; most with bright wingbars and also a speculum; in acacia areas;
