Observation details
Continuing bird, upslope a bit from where I understand it’s typically seen, in dead branches here: (34.1402719, -118.2890053). A large, robust kingbird, dark olive-green above with a dark gray nape and crown contrasting with a blackish mask and white throat and chin. Bill was all black, very thick, and slightly down curved. Underparts were mostly light lemony-yellow except for the upper breast, which was very light grayish-white, continuing on from the throat. The wings and tail were both all dark, with a slight notch at the tip of the tail. The bird made a few vocalizations, of which I made some recordings.
