! Presumably the one Jon Houghton had on the CBC on Jetty Island? With Dunlin flock feeding on the mudflats. First picked up on it in flight when I noted a shorebird the same size as the Dunlin but much darker, with no patterning on the upperparts except for a narrow wingstripe. On ground it generally presented as a stocky calidrid similar in size to the Dunlin and overall dark gray on the upperparts including the breast. At one point it was close enough I could see well the spotting on the flanks. Photo gives general idea of size, shape, and coloration.
