Observation details
Whoa. *Unexpected count, especially for the date. I had two birds calling in the SW section of the Wildlife Pond (never had one at this section of the pond before) and another calling in the NW section of the same pond. Initially, the first bird was heard right after I crossed the bridge from the parking lot. As I was listening to that bird approximately here (38.0262979, -122.5171615), another was calling softer but audible to the SE of where I was standing, here (38.0260066, -122.5164722). Both birds can be heard in the attached recording (second distant bird heard best at 0:06 and 0:44). I then walked along the path north and heard another bird calling from the NW section of the pond, very close to the path. All birds were unseen, but I must have only been 15-20 feet away from both the birds on the west side of the Wildlife Pond. Upon looping the first pond, I ran into Mark and Joseph and we heard the same bird calling loudly at the WSW section of the Wildlife Pond. Significant number for the date.
