Observation details
Rousted up by the mowing, it flew around for quite a long time, sometimes getting very high, sometimes being chased by harriers and crows, though it also made a swoop at a crow perched in a tree. Eventually it landed in one of the favored large trees in the middle and sat for a while before finally dropping back into some of the tall grasses. Determined from photos to be a female due to dark barring on upper tail and tawny color on belly with darker breast.
