Observation details
1x1 Tally. Common winterer on chaparral covered slopes from early Sep-early April. Only walked the first 1/2 mile of the trail, where Sooties typically outnumber TBFS, but i detected more thick-billed today. This is likely a detection issue due to weather rather than a switch in ratio of these two types. Two birds here: (37.9702402, -122.6292064), a flock of at least three here: (37.9702405, -122.6311078, one here: (37.9710429, -122.6316315), one one each side of the trail here: (37.9714832, -122.6333350), and finally a bird here: (37.9659162, -122.6260867). Only got visuals of two birds, the rest were detected by their high-pitched tink call. An expected count in this area, though i’m surprised i could find this many in the wind. Pics + Audio tba
