Observation details

Added this recording while going through old files. Although I uploaded some of my Somaliland recordings a number of years ago, I didn't get through them all. These recordings are nocturnal, and there are very few comparable recordings in eBird or Xeno-canto. However THEY ARE UPLOADED WITH SOME UNCERTAINTY as the bird(s) were not seen in the darkness/dusk. Identification was by Abdi Jama, an excellent bird guide and safari operator (also perhaps the only such in Somaliland). If you don't like the i.d. or feel more confident that some other species is involved, please reach out to me at richardarthurfleming@gmail.com given that I'm not sure whether or not there is an eBird moderator for this painfully underbirded area. It's probably worth noting here that the only credible return for this recording in BirdNET, which is especially weak in this geographic area, is Eurasian Thick-knee, for which there is only one record in Somaliland.
