Observation details
The blue-grey upperparts (Water Pipit would show some brown ) and wide, fuzzy-edged heavy streaking(Water Pipit can be heavily streaked, but fine, well-defined streaks) show this to be a Rock Pipit of the Scandinavian subspecies. Our Rock Pipit (with which I am extremely familiar seeing "petrosus" more than once a week and in numbers of ten or more at times)has much more dark olive upperparts and usually olive tinged underparts.
