Observation details
At least. 2 males flushed from the path about halfway into the 迎宾杜鹃/Greeting Azalea trail, around (28.3033617, 119.2778309); ran further down the trail and then uphill just before a sign for a 缺萼枫香/Liquidambar acalycina Chang tree. One of the birds gave one call series in response to playback and flew onto a tree for a moment before disappearing into the forest. Later ran into a group of 5 (4 males, 1 female) about 1/3 of the way down the 十四姐妹树/Fourteen Sisters Trees trail starting from 石人矶/Humanlike Rocks, downhill from (28.2937698, 119.2770125) near a set of steeply descending stairs. Encountered presumably the same group on the way back around (28.2941991, 119.2764375) (also downhill), this time closer to 石人矶/Humanlike Rocks. Had another possible individual later on (see comments for Phasianidae sp.). Photos
