Observation details
An ambiguously patterned molting oriole. The developing black plumage on throat and head suggest either Scott's or Baltimore, but the bright orangy-yellow cheek is incongruent. The body plumage color seems more orangy than Scott's but more yellowish than Baltimore, most like Hooded. The abbreviated blue of the lower mandible and tail features are perhaps more consistent with Scott's. The back was neither photographed nor observed well in the brief encounter. Perhaps some type of hybrid, e.g. Scott's X Hooded?
