Observation details
Four small flocks consisting of 52 total individuals came up from the marsh and perched near the tops of several trees as the sun was setting. Many were calling (see audio file). All 52 individuals were observed through my scope and ID'd as Rusty Blackbirds. These birds were counted three times for accuracy, and I spent at least 20 minutes with them. The photos show two of the four trees in which the birds were perched. I could not get a photo of all four at once because they were spaced apart. But I could see and count them all from where I stood.
