Observation details
One bird showed the thick cream borders to median and secondary covets expected of Russet-tailed without any shaft extension, other bird appeared to be an adult going through moult of covets, no indication that it was a juvenile. Scaling on rump and back minimal, colour of tail and rump brown contrasting to the heavily-scalloped, greyish tones of Bassian Thrush found in this area. Displayed significant white to outer tail when flying away, thought this is not considered to be a defining feature in the tropics, it was noticeably more than I have observed on the Bassians here. No calls. Watched and pursued for several minutes in poor light.
