ICGU 2
Observation details
Photos 1 and 2 of ICGU 1, the older bird of this species that was seen rather distant across the river in Columbia Co. It was initially mistaken for the GWGU due to distant views. Reviews of photos and a good catch by Jake Cvetas revealed the pale gull a group of us (Jake, Jenny Wenzel, John Dixon, Daryl Christensen and Marty Evanson) were following around 1 pm was not the GWGU but and Iceland Gull. Jake sent his photos to Amar Ayyash who agreed with our tentative ID of ICGU. This makes sense since while I was viewing the first pale gull, I noted it was smaller than the nearby HERGs that were harassing it when it would catch fish. The second ICGU (Pics 3 and 4) is a younger bird (1st cycle?) and distinctly different from the first ICGU I had seen.
