Observation details
South side of the pond, feeding on the trail and on the drained lake bed with a large flock of ORJU with the other reported sparrows as well. Pale gray head and nape. Complete white eye ring. White malar and throat separated by narrow dark gray lateral throat stripe. Breast and flanks white with a dark central breast spot and brownish streaks on the flanks. Tail black above and below with a narrow white edge. Back brownish gray with distinct but narrow dark streaks. Hops down from willows and runs with its tail cocked up only to stop abruptly, look around, feed a bit and run again. Often flicks tail quickly up and lets it slowly come back down. Runs with its' body in a horizontal position.
