Observation details
2 SY birds and 2 adults, all light morphs. Seen concurrently. 1 Immature ripped a small rodent to shreds for lunch right in front of us while perched on a lateral move irrigation pipe. I wouldn’t have expected to see 4 Swainies at once in Florida ever, but a small number of this sp. is known to winter in the area. Long-awaited lifer!
