Observation details
An intergrade male interacting with an possible male Gilded Flicker. Field markings noted were the red nape crescent and brown face like Yellow-shafted Flicker, but red malar and pinkish-red undertail more like Red-shafted Northern Flicker. Poor backlit views. Spotted in a snag near a few tall cottonwoods about .25 miles east of the parking area.
