Observation details
Adult male showed well about 50 m from the hide in the afternoon. I arrived mid-morning and it had just been flushed by a Marsh Harrier and flown to the back of the pools. It took 4 hours of scanning the ducks before I refound it preening on the edge of some vegetation in front of the hide. It was flushed twice over the next hour, first by a Marsh Harrier, then the Hen Harrier. The first time it returned to the same spot again, the second time I couldn’t find it again in a brief search. The bird has been present since December 2023.
