Observation details
Third winter bird. Classic Thayer's structure with rounder head, marginally smaller bill than adjacent Herring Gulls. Pink legs. Dark eye surrounded by smudgy "mascara"; extensive streaking on head; black mark on somewhat greenish bill. Noted extensive black primaries with white tips on outer primary essentially undeveloped - apparently a feature shown by some 3rd winter subadults.
