Media notes
The trek to Chembra peak and onward to the shola patch on the opposite side proved to be quite exhausting. After three hours of hiking, we finally arrived at the designated spot where Banasura Laughingthrushes are typically sighted. The persistent wind, which I had not anticipated, made the journey challenging, as I lacked a wind-cheater or a muffler. Consequently, I developed a splitting headache, making it difficult to concentrate on the birdcalls and promptly record them. Realizing my oversight, I decided to take a painkiller and lay down on the ground with my audio recorder set to 'On'. The reason behind this approach lies in the unpredictable nature of the bird's calls. I aimed to capture a continuous audio recording, lasting approximately 30-40 minutes. From this extended recording, I later edited and trimmed the clip to produce the final result.
