Observation details
In early evening the cranes flew east of the campground and the Rio Grande River, to the north. Some were quite high and others flew at tree level increasing the counting difficulty. (I have video but it is an .MOV file).During the day they sporadically flew across the river low in small groups. They were not audible noticeable when I first went out around 11:30ish. They became increasing raucous-y and the calls were not just the usual rattle. The ravens were often flying towards the field as did the eagle.
