Observation details
"Diane [Tessaglia-Hymes] and I had to feed the raptors at the Hawk Barn and Annex after a visit with Leonard Lee Rue III, who was there to film some of the raptors. While we were going from the Annex to the Hawk Barn we had a rare opportunity to see a migrating GOLDEN EAGLE! It was flying about 200 feet away and 100 feet up; unfortunately, the lighting was not great, but we were abel to tell it was a Golden Eagle because of its very slight dihedral, its very few but powerful wingbeats, and its head-to-tail proportions, and its very long wings."
